Last time I wanted to take screenshots with my Apple Watch, it was built with watchOS 1 and this feature was enabled by default. Before it was so easy as Apple says in his website:
- With two fingers, press the Digital Crown and the side button at the same time. The screen flashes when you take a screenshot.
- To find your screenshot, go to the Photos app on your iPhone, tap the Albums tab, then tap Screenshots.
I’ve updated my Apple Watch with every released watchOS version. Right now, I’m running watchOS 3 and this feature is disabled by default. I just wanted to take a screenshot of the new Pokemon GO app for Apple Watch and no matter how many times I tried it, I wasn’t able to take a screenshot.. 😓
There is a reason to disable this feature. As you can read in the Apple’s website there is a new feature to pause or resume a workout in progress with the same combination of buttons:
To pause a workout, press both the Digital
Crown and the side button at the same time. To resume, press both buttons again. […]
If you also had this problem like me, just read the following steps and yo’ll able to take screenshots again:
- In your paired iPhone, open the Watch app.
- Go to General.
- Scroll down to find the Enable Screenshots option.
- Switch on the Enable Screenshots.
- In your paired Apple Watch, press both the Digital Crown and the side button at the same time. And that’s all! 🎉
Once we’ve enabled Enable Screenshots option in our iPhone, we’ll be able again to take screenshots with our Apple Watch like these:

Extra point: The Workout app
Right now, you’re able to take screenshots but if you also use the Workout app maybe there is something that bothers you.. Every time you pause/resume a workout, you take a screenshot.. D’oh! 😓
In watchOS 3, the Workout app includes a new option to pause when you stop moving and resume when you move again. To enable this new feature, follow these steps:
- In your paired iPhone, open the Watch app.
- Scroll down to the apps section and select the Workout app.
- And finally switch on the Running Auto Pause option.
My best wishes!
This is my last post for this year 2016. I’m really happy to have been able to finally create my blog in the last month of 2016. Also, I hope to keep working hard and to post very interesting things for all of you.
One of my purposes for the 2017 was to create a blog, but the truth is that I couldn’t wait for it and I wanted to do it before the end of the year. You know:
Don’t leave for tomorrow what you can do today ✊
I wish you all a great and profitable year 2017. Do whatever you always wanted to do and never surrender to get real your dreams. Dreams are not just dreams, think about them as your goals!
