Hi there! I’ve updated my Firebase AdMob Extension with the latest iOS SDK version. This is an interesting update if you want to have full support to display ads in iPhone X. Reviewing my Trello board, I realized I had the Test Ads task pending to be developed so I decided to finally implement it in this new update. Let’s learn how it works:
- admob_set_test_device_ids: You’ll need to call this function just once before requesting new ads, no matter which type of ad is. Set the Test Device Ids you want and they will stored in the cache for future uses. This function gets as a parameter string composed by at least one AdMob test device ID string. The test device IDs are separated by commas (,). An example could be “3c6fc6858ea922392070c33aff4c34cb,dd32c0d8b93d6b5fff513e1c6a53d56b“.
The latest SDK version is available for both GameMaker Studio platforms. For GMS 1.4 I’ve updated the Firebase AdMob SDK Extension to the version 1.6.0. It includes the new Firebase AdMob iOS SDK 7.26.0 released on 17 November 2017.
Firebase AdMob iOS SDK 7.26.0 Changelog
- iPhone X support.
- For full screen ads, the default close button now renders within the safe area.
- Removed the nativeAd property from GADAdChoicesView and GADMediaView .
For GMS 2.1 I’ve updated the Firebase AdMob SDK Extension to the version 2.6.0. It also includes the new Firebase AdMob iOS SDK 7.26.0.
As usual, if you want to check the progress of this GameMaker Extension you can also do it in the public Trello Board.
