If you participated in the Luna Stars (LSTR) Airdrop I shared previously on Twitter and other social networks and you never used the Qtum Core Wallet before, probably when you open your wallet to check your current LSTR tokens balance you don’t see any update. The reason is because by default the wallet will only display your current QTUM coins balance but if you want to also display a token, you’ll need to bind an existing QTUM address to the contract address of the token you want to display. Within just a few easy steps, you’ll be able to display your QTUM tokens 😉
Open the Qtum Core Wallet app:
If you’ve never added a token before, the Other Tokens section at the right side will be empty.
Let’s assume that you don’t have yet a QTUM address yet. Go to File > Receiving addresses…:
In the new dialog displayed create a new QTUM address by selecting the NEW button, and enter a new name for your wallet address in order to identify it easily:
Select the OK button and your new QTUM address will be created, ready to receive QTUM coins and also QTUM tokens. The only issue here is that you’ll receive your tokens, but the wallet won’t be able to list them to let you check your current balance. Let’s fix this!
Go to the QRC Tokens section at the left side and select the Add Token option:
In this new screen, all you’ll need to do is adding the contract address of the token you wish to add, and all the rest of the info will be autofilled. In this example we want to add the Luna Stars (LSTR) token to our list, so in the form enter the LSTR Contract Address 72e531e37c31ecbe336208fd66e93b48df3af420. Once you enter the Contract Address, the form will display automatically the following info of the token:
Expand the Token Address list in the form and select the QTUM address you want to bind with your new QTUM token. Once you bind the address and select the CONFIRM button, the balance and the transactions history will be updated:
Great! We already have our LSTR tokens listed in our wallet! 🎉
