As you probably may read in my previous post, I decided to be an active user inside the cryptoverse – as some people say – following interesting projects in GitHub and watching its progress, following different people, and also investing and mining. My first steps started at the beginning of December and the truth is that I’m so excited about what cryptocurrencies have to offer in the future! 😄
Because I didn’t want to wait for the future, I thought that could be interesting to start supporting the donations I receive with cryptocurrencies instead of using PayPal. Don’t misunderstand me, I’m glad with PayPal and how it works but the fees that they have are a little too much expensive for me… And after donations, the next step was to create a new shop section with cryptocurrency payment! So that’s what I did 😉
You can access to the shop section in the header menu of this website. There are twelve cryptocurrencies available to buy any of my GameMaker Studio Extensions. In my opinion, some of them have a most interesting technology compared to the others, but I thought that this selection of cryptocurrencies could be a nice one to open my shop. Although it could be enough with the top cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum and Litecoin, I thought offering other altcoins could also be a chance for you to have more opportunities to use those cryptocurrencies that in other places you have never been able to use yet 👍
For that reason, at this moment you’ll be able to use: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Stellar, Cardano, TRON, Bytecoin, IOTA, ETHLend, Populous, NEO and Dash. If there is a cryptocurrency you want to use which it isn’t listed in the shop, please email me with your suggestion and I’ll consider adding it as a new cryptocurrency payment method.
The payment has to be done manually, which means you’ll need to copy the wallet address (and also the MEMO address for Stellar) from the product detail page and paste it to your wallet in order to send the amount of cryptocurrency indicated in the product detail page. This amount of cryptocurrency is the result from a conversion between the USD price of the product to the cryptocurrency price using the current price of that cryptocurrency got from the Coinmarketcap API. Of course, you can cheat that price and send me a lower amount. But honestly, if you are a developer like me you’ll understand why you shouldn’t do that 😄
Once the payment has been sent, please email me to hola@jgonfer.com with a reference to check the status of your transaction. As soon as I receive the payment, I’ll email you back with a download link. I know it could be easier to have a button to pay and download your GameMaker Studio Extension, but that’s the “price” of having a decentralized system 😉
